Our hair sheep herd…
At Miller-Dause Farms, we take great pride in raising our dorper hair sheep, with a small infusion of katahdin genetics mixed in along their lines. This careful breeding gives our carcasses the best and most consistent yields that we always strive for and desire. Our sheep are raised exclusively on lush pasture grass, supplemented with alfalfa and grass hay during the colder winter months. We truly enjoy feeding the nutritious alfalfa in the wintertime as it helps the ewes provide ample milk, ensuring that our lambs receive the vital jump start they need until the green grass begins to flourish in spring. Additionally, we maintain a closed herd, which allows us to effectively eliminate the need for antibiotics, worming treatments, vaccinations, or anything else that might compromise the natural purity of our animals.
